Terrible gift givers this one is for you

“It’s the thought that counts.”

Giving someone is gift is usually supposed to be a good thing, unless you’re a terrible gift giver. Personally there’s nothing as awkward as giving someone a gift that makes them cringe. But as someone who has been on the receiving end of a bad gift and also on the giving end. I am going to tell you something cheesy.

“You can’t go wrong if it’s from the heart.” As hokey, corny and cheesy as it sounds. That is the truth. When you give a gift you are actually giving more than just an object wrapped in a pretty bow. On any occasion whether it’s birthdays or Christmas or just a silly souvenir from a long trip. A gift is a special expression of care! And it doesn’t matter how bad it is. No one means to give a bad gift (gag gifts, and your enemies aside) No one wants you to cringe when you open their gift, they go shopping probably panicking at the fact that they don’t know what to get for someone who is probably one of the most important people in their lives. I mean that’s a lot of pressure to put on a material thing.

So this Christmas, if you do get what you consider a terrible gift think about your experience as a gift giver. Not all of them will be hits. And if your gifts have been more misses than hits don’t worry it’s the thought that counts.

Merry Christmas Everyone

December is Here

Christmas is almost here, I can feel the excitement particularly in my town right now. Christmas is a time for joy and love and the time most people take this time to forget about their worries. I hope Christmas comes sooner it seems November left a load on a lot of people’s mind with the election results. All I can say to anyone who still looks at is to not lose hope. Who knows maybe everything will be okay.

As I told my American friends affected by the results clam down think about it. You are a person you are valid and your opinions matter. No matter how uncertain things seem right now have hope.

Right now breathe in some of that Christmas cheer and spend time with people you love doing things you love.
